“I discovered how much I didn’t know about my own surroundings! It was a nice thing to see how much more exploring there is to do right here on our home turf.” new map user Michael H.
We love hearing that kind of comment! At Baltimore Green Map, we see engagement as the ultimate goal on a continuum of experience that starts with simply being aware of the resources that exist (Discover)- to experiencing the place/resource (Enjoy) – thus stimulating curiosity to know more (Learn) – and the determination to protect and expand the resource for others now and in the future. Take action!
Nate Conway, a GIS expert and BaltoGreenMap enthusiast, recently contacted us to say, “I’m looking for a way to lend my skills to help not only my neighborhood, but the city as a whole.”
Now he is spearheading a new interactive map focused on his Patterson Park neighborhood and updating those entries on our Baltimore Regional Map. He will also help us test new interactive platforms as we experiment with different ways to engage more people, all ages, Baltimoreans and visitors.
